Why no newspaper yesterday?
In the early hours of yesterday a group of masked soldiers stormed our facilities and tried to kidnap several reporters. They where "not happy" with the published truth about their cruelties. We had big luck, that a group of Russian special forces were patroling in the area. As soon as the intruders got warned about them they ran away. Luckily nobody suffered bigger injuries. We "only" had to recover from the scare.
Red army advance halted
Soviet tanks bogged down in deep mud and snow near river crossings on their way to Krymsk. NATO aircraft reportedly took advantage of the situation knocking out bridges and causing damage to advancing columns, slowing down the Red Army’s offensive.

Air War in the Caucasus escalates
The air battle in the struggle for Caucasus has escalated to unprecedented levels since the beginning of the conflict. NATO aircraft have now begun continuous bombardment of Soviet controlled Sochi airbase, with reports of both runways heavily damaged by aerial bombs - severely hampering Soviet air operations in the region. This is a retaliatory response for a Soviet anti-ship strike conducted from this airfield just a day earlier targeting a "USN humanitarian support group" that was sunk somewhere in the middle of the Black Sea. No exact details exist yet on the composition of the sunken vessels, but vague reports claim that the joint NATO naval command are considering withdrawing from major operations in the Black Sea due to sustaining high losses from mainland Soviet air operations.
In the Krymsk region, widespread hunger and lack of supplies have turned the city into a ghost-town. Ukrainian peacekeepers still retain control of the nearby airbase; however reports of advancing Soviet ground forces are now beginning to come in. One Krymsk resident, who chose not to be named stated, "I have no electricity or water, and my heater has been off for at least a week. I don't know which will come first; death from bombs, hunger, or freezing."
